Drumap. The World of Rhythm - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

Yes, we have over a decade of experience in developing mobile apps.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

The most challenging aspect of developing this mobile app was creating an audio player that maintains precise synchronization across multiple audio tracks. Ensuring that there is no perceptible delay among the audio tracks, even as small as 50 milliseconds, was a significant challenge.

Drumap is a small team of musicians and tech geeks spread around the world. Their vision is to make music playing available for all. Everyone should feel the pleasure of playing an instrument.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

Informed: I love this news app because it aggregates news from major newsletters and provides different perspectives on my favorite topics. I also appreciate its branding and user experience.
DrumCoach: This is our new app that we are about to officially launch. It serves as your drums practice buddy with tailored exercises, making it the perfect tool to enhance your drumming skills.

How long have you been working on this app?

Drumap has been live for five years.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

Our goal with Drumap is to empower users to create and share rhythms without the need for traditional music notation. We focus on inclusivity by embracing a wide range of percussion genres from around the world.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

Drumap stands out as the only app that caters to the creation of rhythms for both mainstream and non-mainstream genres. While other apps may focus on popular music styles, Drumap embraces diversity by offering support for a wide range of percussion genres, including Samba, Maracatu, Chacarera, and many more.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

Education: We are now shifting our focus to education, introducing new ways of connecting teachers and students through our marketplace. We are collaborating with carefully selected teachers from the diverse genres mentioned above.

Community: Next on our roadmap is to create a thriving community where music enthusiasts can create and share rhythms, socialize, learn, and explore different genres.

Assuming new users of your app are reading this page. What do you want to ask them to do (contact you about X, Share the app, etc.)?

• Share the app with your friends.
• If you’re part of a drums or percussion school, we’d love to connect with you for potential collaborations and partnerships.
