Drum Loops & Metronome Pro - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

Yes, I've had 12 years of experience of full-stack coding in the IT industry before moving onto apps.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

The most challenging aspect for developing the Drum Loops & Metronome Pro app was to get the drums loops as smooth and stable as possible. We had to write many engines with different libraries and compare and contrast them. We were surprised that the newest libraries were slow and ineffective. In the end, we had to get into the really low-level code and do some special technical solutions to make the audio as smooth as possible.

I have always had a passion for music and IT. I have been in bands, playing piano, guitar, bass guitar, drums, and so understand what musicians need to raise their game. I have been working in IT for over 20 years, in design, testing, coding, and project management. In the last 10 years, I have formed a company and we develop educational music apps. It's been scientifically proven that those who can play music develop a range of cognitive skills and are more successful, happier, and mentally more healthy. And with over 30 million downloads for Learn To Master apps, it's been the most rewarding thing I have achieved.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

My favourite app is Google Photos as I love the options for editing photos. It does the simple task very well (viewing photos) and allows more complex tasks well. I love the Music Player app. It makes it easy to recognize music on the device, create playlists, and adjust the tones. What I really look for in apps is a simple user interface. I am a big advocate of good UI design, having studied and practiced Jakob Nielsen usability guidelines. I also like Football Mania. You can easily find how any team is doing in any competition.

How long have you been working on this app?

Drum Loops & Metronome Pro took 2 months to develop initially and we put it on the market. We soon found out that there was a demand for our app and from them on we are always improving it, mainly responding to user comments as to how we should grow and develop it.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

Musicians can practice with a regular beat with an easy to use Interface.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

Drum Loops & Metronome Pro app is better than the competition as there are so many more loops from all genres. We have every rhythm you can ever think of, and the innovative features include playlists, drum rolls, ability to change the tones of each drum loop.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

Our future plans for Drum Loops & Metronome Pro are to make the engine even more smooth than before and add more drum loops. And we can do this without forcing users to download huge files, which our competitors do.

Assuming new users of your app are reading this page. What do you want to ask them to do (contact you about X, Share the app, etc.)?

We want new users to use the app and get in touch with us at [email protected] so we can improve it in whichever way they want us to improve it. Growth and sharing come organically once you have a great product that's functional and people use.
