AudD - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

Yes, of course. As an example, before this app we created music recognition service (faster than Shazam and has tracks DB three times larger than Shazam database). It can recognize music like other recognition services and by humming. App was created as demonstration of our API (api.audd.io/doc) using our recognition algorythm based on fingerprints generating by neural network.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

The most difficult aspect was sleep. The application was created on hackathon.

Telegram (it's like social networks for me), Monument Valley 2 (I love this game) and Spritz app (spritzinc.com).

How long have you been working on this app?

The application has existed for several weeks. We worked on it for several hours (not counting the time spent on AudD and AudD API creating).

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

Music recognition. If you hear music or remember some melody, you need AudD.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

We have more than 40 000 000 tracks with fingerprints in our database. We have recognition by humming. We have technologies of 2018, not 2001.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

We'll add more languages (like English), add recognition by humming (now you can try our recognition by hummng in Telegram or VK bots, or through API - api.audd.io/doc) and fix a lot of bugs.
