So Syncd – Personality Dating - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

My co-founder/sister and I did not have prior development or coding experience before starting So Syncd. We learned basic coding in order to keep costs down in the early stages and we now have a tech team. I studied chemistry and my sister studied economics.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

The most challenging aspect of developing the app was overseeing the tech activities without either of us having coding experience. Soon after launching, we brought on an amazing CTO which made the whole process much better.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

Spot.On pet: A great ride-hailing app that enables you to take your pets with you.
Bagboard: It promotes eco-conscious shopping, reduces plastic waste and brands can advertise in a sustainable way.
Citymapper: I have a terrible sense of direction and Citymapper helps me get from A to B smoothly.

How long have you been working on this app?

We launched So Syncd at the beginning of Covid and we have already helped over 4,000 people find relationships. It was extremely rewarding to help facilitate meaningful connections during a time in which so many people were struggling with loneliness.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

We help people find meaningful connections and fulfilling relationships through the use of personality types.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

So Syncd is based on personality types so it appeals to a certain type of person. It attracts people who are looking for deeper relationships and who are more self-aware.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

We will be building more features around our personality type USP. We will also be developing a feature to help people find friends as well as dates.
