Yes, a long time ago I had a market research app called Votechimp. Unfortunately, the app failed, but I learned a lot from it.
For starters, the most challenging aspect is to create a community based on shared values where people accept one another. Let’s say you’re vegan and you think that eating meat is murder. You don’t want to meet someone who’ll ask you out to Outback, or even to have a cow milk-based latte at your local coffee shop. People have their own set of values and ideologies, and they tend to associate with other folks in their community. You don’t want to create a platform where there are no shared values, otherwise, your users will hate each other.
Also, making the right decisions in order to create a critical mass. In every city, there should be at least a couple hundred users to connect with each other. Without a critical mass, the app feels dead and boring. No one wants to go to an empty party.
But yeah, long story short, a social app is about bringing like-minded people together so they can get along with each other.

Well, to mention a fellow dating app, I really like Bumble. I thought it was a genius move to create a section for business networking and making friends. I think more apps should be doing that. Also, they’ve been doing a great job with their user interface as well.
I also love Telegram due to how complete, customizable and nice it is to use. I think they finally found out the formula to make a messaging app that is naturally used to its full potential.
I’ve been working on this app for around 5 years.
There were three main needs. The first one was an increasing wealth gap globally. It's becoming more and more expensive to live in capitals and when that happens, people start looking for a spouse who can provide for the household and maintain a family.
The second one was certainly privacy. People want to keep their chats to themselves and are very afraid of being hacked and having their private messages exposed. Having a good privacy system is also attractive for high net worth / public individuals once they can enjoy their time finding love without being spammed and having their profile exposed.
Third one was just efficiency and faster solutions. Someone who works long hours in their business doesn't have the time to spend more hours swiping through a dating app.
Basically, I built a dating app like I wanted to have it, from a customer perspective, because I was a customer myself.
Honestly, I think Glambu is better than its competitors due to how straightforward it is. At Glambu, if you invite a woman and she accepts your invitation, you’ll directly get access to her WhatsApp or Telegram and can contact her directly in a private setting.
I mean, I was single, and from a guy’s perspective, it was always so frustrating and boring to match with girls and have to drag the same old opening lines until I asked for a phone number. Most times men get ghosted, or women just deinstall the app, so I created something more efficient, reducing ghosting to the minimum. Women on the other hand get to meet busy and successful men. So they can give up on some ghosting opportunities, don’t you think? :)
Our main plan for the near future is to optimize our business model to create more critical masses through larger cities in the US, this way expanding more into American territory.
When it comes to features, we are working on a new update that will enable women to add their friends on Glambu. This way, our male users will be able to invite entire groups of girls who know each other for group dates, parties, or private events.
