Snake.io – Fun Addicting Arcade Battle .io Games - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

We are a team coming from different disciplines, and yes, our developers have either graduated with a degree on programming and game development or worked on previous game projects before joining us.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

Probably designing and implementing the Reaper snake that you can encounter in the Daily Challenge and Live Event. It has a custom AI that targets the player at the top of the leaderboard as well as a system tied to it where this player can fight back and possibly defeat it. It took a lot of time and effort to get into the game.

Kooapps is a mobile gaming studio and publisher. We have over 100M downloads across our portfolio of games with notable titles such as Snake.io, Stacky Bird, and Pictoword. Our mission is to connect the world through amazing daily experiences.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

I would say Clash Royale by Supercell is one of our favorites. It’s the first sync multiplayer battle experience on mobile when it launched and we take inspiration from it.

How long have you been working on this app?

Snake.io launched in 2016, so many years of work was put into this game. Our team most recently redesigned the entire game.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

We developed the app with the idea that the user can open it whenever they have some free time and play a quick fast-paced game. Each game is self-contained so they don't have to remember what they were doing last time they opened the app. Just drop in and play.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

I think Snake.io provides more responsive and faster-paced gameplay than other snake games on the market. We also run monthly live-ops events where players can earn themed skins for their snakes. We also have the Reaper Snake that appears in these Live Ops events which gives some extra challenge to the players at the top of the food chain. We are also very active in terms of reaching out to our players through SNS and other support channels. We are always there to listen and assist our players.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

We have plans on making our Live Ops even more exciting with an event leaderboard where players can compete at a chance to earn the skin that the Reaper Snake wears during each event. I heard our players love our Reaper Snake skin designs!
