Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

Not at all, I'm more of a business guy.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

The challenge is to me to remain agile without creating painful legacy on the go. When you want to build fast, you take shortcuts that you pay twice or more at the end of the day.

The interviewee, Christophe Duprat, is the CEO of Qlower. He is an entrepreneur and leader of large organizations, with successful transformation experiences in the banking, mobility, and real estate industries. He is currently the Managing Director of Catalyst, a major Fintech incubator based in Bangalore, India. Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

I'm on the older side... So I'm most on news apps and LinkedIn and still amazed by the accuracy of Insta's algorithms.

How long have you been working on this app?

It's 3 years now. From an outsourced prototype, to a complete re-coding to handle volume, and always getting new features our clients ask for.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

Taking care of the tax and accounting pain points for real estate investors and landlords.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

Now we are really good at accounting and tax, we plan to derive our datasets into real estate wealth advisory. Buy what, when, where, with rental model (furnished or not), which tax regime, and when to sell, to whom. All this works in our data models, and we have to embed these features in our product.
