Yes. Though I am primarily a Dental Surgeon by profession with specialization in Orthodontics, I have a great interest in computer technology and this propelled me to get formal training in programming languages like C, C++, Visual Basic, and C# during my college years (1995 to 2005). I was initially developing various Dental applications using Microsoft Visual Studio to help Dentists improve patient care. Later I learned Android development to match the changing nature of computing.
Coming up with an intuitive and efficient user interface for small touch screens was the most challenging aspect of developing the app 'OneCeph'. This App involves displaying digital radiographic images, allowing users to draw on them in a scientific way, providing them with contextual help for these operations. This complex requirement has been traditionally addressed with the desktop user interface which has the luxury of keyboard and mouse.
Keepass2Android, Business Calendar 2, and Google Maps come immediately to my memory when talking about great apps. They address unique human needs in a very intuitive way with great user interface and accuracy.
There was almost a year of development time for launching the first version of the App in 2015. Since then it is being fine tuned.
The target users for this App are Orthodontists who need a solid digital tool to help them in diagnosis and treatment planning for patients seeking braces treatment. Lack of any free or affordable application has prevented most of the orthodontists from incorporating an effective digital solution for the same. It was my sincere effort to empower all the Orthodontists and Orthodontic students worldwide with an effective digital tool that would, in turn, benefit the patients through effective diagnosis and treatment planning. I released this app for free to avoid any financial constraints holding back reaping the benefits.
The intuitive and effective user interface, availability of a wide array of analysis options and accuracy make this app 'OneCeph' standout remarkably. Having innovated such a user-friendly approach that gained widespread popularity and adoption by the orthodontic community makes me feel happy that I could do something for humanity with whatever little capabilities I have.
I wish to make the App capable of working with 3-dimensional radiographic data at some point in time. Right now I am working on providing the capability to superimpose data acquired before and after the treatment.
Provide me with feedback and ideas to improve the functionality as well as share the app with their contacts.
