MyWoWo – Audio Guide - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

No, we didn’t.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

It was to built it as simpler as possible for a usage from children to aged people.

The interviewee, Mr. Stratos Baschenis, is the CEO and Founder of MyWoWo. The MyWoWo team aspires to help millions of travellers benefit from the smart and innovative audio content in the language of the cities they are visiting & helping to improve their experience!

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

Whatsapp for simplicity and for the possibility to send audio, written messages, files and photos. Youtube for video, and NBA app as I am addicted to American basketball.

How long have you been working on this app?

We started end of 2017 and we still continue to add content and functionalities.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

To allow users to listen with their smartphone in a easy way the wonders of the cities interested in the visit during a journey.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

Our app has all the audio content available in 7 different languages and not as the others that have one city in 5 languages, 2 cities in 3 languages and other cities with different languages.

Our audio content have an original format with a curiosity in each audios, are spoken by professionals international speakers, are written by historical professors and authors coming from Italian TV programs.

Our app has a quiz to help learning something interesting in few seconds in easy and funny way.

In our app the traveller is not oblige to follow a specific itinerary but is free to choose what to see depending from his choice and the distance he can watch into the app with the geolocalization.

In the app the user could also buy online tickets of many venues of the city visited without doing any queue.

There are many other features but I don’t want to be long.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

Our goal is to add every year several cities to the number available at this moment, from Asia to Europe and US. We would love to add other foreign languages but all the investment now are under the attention on how the tourism industry moves after the 3 years of Covid period and after the bad situation due to the war.

I would ask them to think to visit a city with a personal tour guide as could be our apps MyWoWo and TravelMate and to inform me personally to what we could add to keep it easy to use but with more functionalities.
