Before developing the Monetaz App for iOS and Android, our team already developed some mobile apps for customers as agency work. The Monetaz App is our first attempt to build our own product and develop a community for personal finance topics.
For us as a team, it was definitely a challenge to set the right focus and find out what functions we want to develop for the MVP and how to move on from there. There are already a lot of good personal finance apps out there and we had to find the perfect niche for us to start in. Also, we had the great opportunity to show our app on German television. The date for the live TV show was set a couple of weeks before our planned launch, therefore we had to put in a lot of work in a short amount of time to get our app out in the stores on time.

It took us approx. 6 months from the start of the development until we launched our app.
We want to enable everybody to easily manage their personal financial situation. Most of our team members used excel to track their personal finances before we developed our app. Monetaz should become the no.1 app for tracking your monthly spending as well as your overall financial development.
We think that the biggest advantage of our app compared to others in this space is the ease of use. We focused a lot on user experience with our app users and improved our app steadily based on the feedback of the community.
We are currently working on implementing the tracking of cryptocurrency as well as implementing community comparison. So our users will be able to see how their personal finances compared to others within the community.
