Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

Our company, Felenasoft, was established 15 years ago, in 2004. So, during all that time, we have done many various projects for medical facilities, businesses, private entities, universities, and so on. Right before Xeoma, we’d been developing video surveillance software called WebCam Looker. It was just for Windows OS but it gave us the idea to create an easy-to-use cross-platform video surveillance app. And we did create Xeoma. We’ve also participated in many different projects in multimedia, 3D graphics, games, video editing, GPS tracking, and adware removal among many others. Each of them helped us grow and gain experience that we eventually utilized in Xeoma today.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

Making everything as simple as possible. It turned out to be an unbelievably hard task to say what the feature can do in just two words. Or without any words at all; with just an icon. Also, we had a goal to create a multi-functional yet flexible application for both professionals and home users. This aspect was pretty challenging because it required combining simplicity and powerful set of features, all in one application. How long have you been working on this app?

We started developing Xeoma in 2009, released the very first version in early 2011, and have been adding new options ever since. What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

Since the day it had been developed, video surveillance software products have always been in demand, yet almost every program available at the time hardly provided a decent amount of options. That is why we decided to create high-quality software with different functions so everybody could use it for their needs. Now, video surveillance is not just for security monitoring of people shoplifting or doing other crimes. More importantly, it's a preventive and pro-active measure now that will help avoid crimes, fraud, losses. And it's a powerful marketing tool now, too! What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

Keeping up with modern technologies is a must in video surveillance. The latest trend in all things digital is AI (artificial intelligence). So, now, we’re working on adding new functions connected with artificial intelligence and neural networks. Recently, we’ve added Face recognition and Face ID options (comparison of face in camera with the photo of the ID pass holder); emotion recognition (recognizes 7 basic facial expressions), object type recognition (can distinguish cars, animals, birds, humans, etc), smart home integration, and many more. Now we’re planning to add more possibilities for automation, color recognition, passengers counting, and everything that proves to be useful in days to come.
