Entre: Professional Network - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

Actually, I didn't have any coding experience prior to founding Entre. What I did have was a vision for a platform that could truly serve the next generation of entrepreneurs and professionals, and I knew that I needed the right people on my team to realize this vision. This led me to find a brilliant CTO who could translate our shared ideas into a robust and user-friendly app.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

The most challenging aspect was bridging the gap between my vision, the technical intricacies of app development, and also fundraising. As a non-technical founder and someone who never raised venture capital, I had to learn how to effectively communicate with my development team and understand the technical constraints and possibilities. It was a steep learning curve, but it also gave me a newfound appreciation for building a tech company.

Entre has over 100k users from over 150 different countries, generated multiple 6-figures in revenue, and has raised over $2M from Venture Capitalists and Angel Investors. He has hosted and spoken at 300+ Events across the US and Canada for tech professionals and entrepreneurs.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

I'm a big fan of Figma and Canva because they have made it super easy to design our product and marketing materials. Also, Slack because of how it streamlines communication, especially in a remote working environment but it can be expensive for startups and smaller teams.

How long have you been working on this app?

Entre started in 2019, so we have been developing Entre for over 4 years now.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

When we started developing Entre, our focus was to create a dedicated platform for entrepreneurs. We saw a gap in the market for a space where entrepreneurs, startups, and investors could connect, collaborate, and share knowledge. We designed Entre to fulfill this need, creating a unique networking and resource hub tailored specifically for this community and now it has evolved into helping not just entrepreneurs but professionals of all types.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

The main differences between us and LinkedIn is that we are very focused on networking and really bringing people together both digitally and in the real world. We are growing through Communities, Events and allowing users to monetize from the beginning which separates us from the features that LinkedIn and other platforms provide.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

We plan to integrate more features within Communities to help people grow and monetize their audience, content, and events easier. We are also working on a few AI-powered products to assist professionals with finding opportunities and increasing their productivity.
