The app launched 13 years ago. I have been working on this app for the last three years.
Windfinder was initially started for people that are looking for wind, like sailors, windsurfers, kite surfers, and so on. A reliable wind forecast is indispensable if you are driving for hours to the coast or if you are looking for the best spot for your sport.
Windfinder is perfect for a quick and easy overview of the wind and weather situation. Your favorite spots at a glance bring you right into the action - depending on what you are looking for. Ease of use and reliability are the best combination.
We are planning to add some layers to the wind map, like waves for example. And we will add custom spots, so if you need your private cliff or grandma’s garden as a favorite spot, you will be able to create that. That’s some of the improvements to come.
