I do not have any prior development or coding experience. I did not study coding at school nor college as my interest only peaked around 2 years ago when I purchased my first smart watch.
The most challenging aspect of developing a mobile app was trying to understand how the coding structure worked without any education but luckily I had a friend who is a coder who pointed me to the right places.
My name is Danny and I am from Liverpool but currently residing in Dublin. I work at a gadget store. Gadgets and gaming are my passion and when I got a smartwatch as a gift I quickly became hooked with designing watch faces, which I do in my spare time. It also puts me in contact with my creative side which is one of the characteristics of my personality.
A few of my favourite apps are: Watchmaker - This app is what inspired me to create and I get so much enjoyment out of it. AZ Screen Recorder - This app has allowed me to record steps I take on my phone which has helped my friends and family (especially my mother) learn how certain functions work without just trying to talk them through the steps. 500 Fonts - This app is what I use to create my background pictures for my watch faces. It allows you to add text and colours and makes your images look more professional without the need of a computer.
I have been working on my apps for only a few months.
When developing my watch faces I tend to keep in mind that the wearer will be needing a clean sharp face that is easy to read at a glance but will also stand out. Adding themes that wearers relate to adds nostalgia and personalises making it one they hopefully keep going back to as it is an old favourite or (excuse the pun) because it's a familiar face.
I don't think any smart watch face app is better than another as they are all down to personal preference but I like to think that my apps show the fun I had making them.
Due to my limited amount of time I have not yet been able to focus on creating more complexed faces but hope to bring some interesting features in this year.
Wild Watches has now a Facebook page where people can go and browse through the entire collection and see future releases. It also has a link to the App Store to find Wild Watches easily. Please visit for a browse, comment or if you have any ideas you would like to see in future apps. Link: https://www.facebook.com/WildWatchfaces.
About App: Wild has finally planted its seed and hopes to grow by branching out to other watch collections in the foreseeable future. I hope you enjoy wearing this watch as much as I do. To wear this watch you must have the Watchmaker app installed.
