Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

Yes, we have a prior development experience.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

Our Challenges were more from building a feature set which provides a good utility to our users. We are not a typical emergency app but we provide a platform where users can contribute by doing a safety audit and arming others in that street/locality in making safe.

The interviewee, Mr. Abhishek, is the from the product team at Safetipin. Safetipin is a social impact organization that works to make cities safer and more inclusive for everyone, especially women and other marginalised groups. Safetipin uses big data and technology to improve urban infrastructure and services in collaboration with government and non-government stakeholders.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

Duolingo is one of the apps that we like both a utility app for language learners and a
seamless user experience . Even in the future we were thinking about integrating some of the use cases of Duo with MSP to provide assistance for users in vernacular and regional languages in India.

How long have you been working on this app?

We are working tirelessly for last 10 years on the app to provide our users with a seamless experience.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

The main user goal was to create trust and reliability on a safety app and deliver what our product promises and we give our best to ensure that.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

There are numerous safety apps available, but the majority focus primarily on emergency and tracking features. In contrast, we emphasize equipping our users with the information they need to make safer mobility decisions. Key features, such as our Safety Score (which correlates with the perceived safety of a location) and Safety Route (which provides a safety perspective score for a given route), are innovative and unique to our app. Additionally, we provide users with information about important support centers near their location. We've also integrated AI that analyzes images to swiftly generate a Safety Score.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

Hard to pinpoint but we focused on making core features stable and robust, exploring other use cases of current features and interacting with users on weekly basis and discover their core needs and pain points to keep relevant to their needs and build which solves for them.
