We are a young team. Therefore, we had limited business experience when starting up. Thanks to internships and entrepreneurship gatherings we became more knowledgeable, but we still learn every day.
We managed to get an organic user base, which is perfect for market validation. But we do want to offer offline events and real-life experiences. Therefore, after the pandemic situation, we have to develop the app in a way that local partnerships are developed and targeted local user bases are matched.
CouchSurfing: We like meeting up and making new friends anywhere we go.
Slack: it is very easy to use for anyone and integrates easily with other services. It makes a good example of a good messaging system.
The idea started in November 2018 to make an app to let people meet easily based on common interests.
Although the internet provides many (new) opportunities, it’s difficult to connect truly in real life. We always had in mind to make a platform that acts as a tool to meet up in reality as soon as possible.
UNBLND has a very natural approach for matching people. You are dropped in anonymous groups (Sports / Brussels). Your looks and background are not important. Whenever you feel okay, you can “unblind” each other and share private information.
