Yes. I'm coding since I was 10 which gives me some 30+ years of experience. However, this is my first mobile app, but I was involved in developing several mobile games since 2013.
The Toonita app implements the structure adaptive stylization method developed by Jan Eric Kyprianidis in his Ph.D. This is used to extract smooth outlines needed to produce cartoonish effects. The implementation relies on the use of several fragment shaders that run on GPU, so the most challenging part for to sync up that with conventional CPU processing.
Aleksandar MilosavljevicAleksandar likes to call himself a programmer. That is something he has been doing for the most part of his life. He started coding when he was 10. Back then, he had Commodore 64. When joystick ports stop working, he started retyping programs from some book on Simons' BASIC that he got from his elder brother. Later, he started writing his own programs and has been doing that ever since. Besides being a programmer, he is also an Associate Professor at the University of Nis, Faculty of Electronic Engineering, involved in teaching courses on Software Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Vision, and Deep Learning.
There are plenty of photo editing apps. When it comes to style transfer I must mention Prisma that was the first in the market. I would also recommend their newer app Lensa that is directed toward face editing. When it comes to face magic, I must also mention FaceApp. Besides these Allstar apps, I would like to single out Clip2Comic from DigitalMasterpieces that produces very good results when it comes to cartooning photos.
It took me 5 months of pretty intensive work.
There are a lot of cartoon photo editors and photo art apps on the market. Our goal was to bring the best of them in one place. Toonita features photo retouching, face tuning, many different poster-like styles, stickers and speech bubbles, and finally a collection of color filters for the final touch. This allows our users to unleash their creativity and share their messages.
I believe the quality of the images produced with Toonita and the visual styles that it provides is unprecedented. However, the fact that Toonita has a lot to offer is probably its strongest point.
Besides adding exciting new styles, we are considering adding background replacement and possibly some additional face tuning capability. At some point, we would also like to enable user-defined styles based on the currently developed style engine.
I would like to invite them to download and take some time to try the app. I would be happy if could get some feedback from them about things they like and dislike, what they are missing, etc.

Toonita is the all-in-one ultimate comic maker, cartoon maker and art photo editor featuring face tuning, photo retouch, stickers for photos, and speech bubble selections. (3) ADJUST STAGE
The Adjust stage brings art editor tools used to fine-tune stylization results. The comic maker and cartoon maker app offers general image adjustments such as Lightness, Brightness, Contrast, Highlights, Shadows, and Saturation, so as the adjustments related to edge extraction: Outlines, Width, Smoothness, Details, and Blackness. Finally, the last two tools allow color adjustment in terms of the number of levels and their softness. Get the perfect cartoon filters and improve the look of your image!
(4) STICKERS
The Stickers stage allows you to add different speech bubbles with custom text and stickers for photos from several collections: Comic maker, Pop Art, Girl, Meme maker, Power, Kawaii, Animals, Motivation, Travel, and Space.
(5) FILTER STAGE
The Filter stage, as the name suggests, contains many photo filters, photo overlays, cartoon filters and more that can further improve your result: Warm, Cold, Sepia, Black & White, B&W + Stretch, Bone, Ocean, Pink, Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, Hot, Cool, Magma, Inferno, Plasma, Cividis, Threshold, Edges, Glowing Edges, and Negative.
In each stage, it is possible to adjust the strength of the applied transformation allowing better control over the desired output.
