The Cool Cam - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

The app was created by two photographers who don't have code experience. We had to hire a professional developer.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

As the app project had no funding, many tasks like design, promotion and user interface are accomplished by ourselves.

Marcia Ramalho is an advertising photographer and Cannes Lions awarded film director. She believes that very soon we will all be able to make photos by a mere blink of an eye but, until then, we must feel privileged to see the world around us and be able to record it in images. Milton Montenegro is a digital Photography pioneer since the eighties. His work belongs to several collections and has been published in books and magazines around the globe. His passion for images is equally shared between film grain and RGB pixels.

How long have you been working on this app?

About seven years.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

Our goal is that The Cool Cam may provide unique filters, not found in other photo-editing apps.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

We try to create effects that not only the app's users won't find in similar apps but also reflect our personal styles as photographers.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

More unusual, original filters.
