I had a lot of development experience. I have a B.S in Computer Science. I also worked as a software engineer for a number of years as a Java developer. But I had to learn app development specifically to create my apps.
The challenge was to create an app for iOS and Android while at the same time doing user testing, marketing, customer service, monetization, design, and more.

I like the Iron Force tank game app. Right now I play it regularly and they keep me engaged with constant rewards and challenges.
I released the app series in 2012 and built a bigger business on top of it. Since I offered expert business help on the app, based on the questions I answered and the entrepreneurs I've helped, I've written a number of business and marketing books: https://problemio.com/business/business-and-marketing-books.html I also created a number of business and marketing online courses: https://www.problemio.com/courses.html Plus, I started a business coaching practice in which I've coached over 1,000 entrepreneurs: https://www.problemio.com/business/hire-business-coach.php So I built a greater elearning and self-branded business on top of these apps.
I wanted users to get quality guidance and help when they start a business. The users asked for business planning tools and I moved the apps in that direction. The app now helps people in three ways: Business planning tutorials, expert help, and business planning tools. Although, I am scaling back on the expert help part of the app.
My app has more consumer research because early in the development of the app, I added a feature where users were able to ask me questions. After talking to hundreds upon hundreds of users, I knew exactly what they needed, what kinds of questions they had, and how to best help them. Every feature I added to the app is there precisely because users specifically asked for that feature or were struggling with issues that the feature helps with.
I need to improve the design and make the app help people long-term, perhaps with productivity tools like to-do lists and perhaps with daily affirmations or restructuring the tutorials to help continuously as people grow their business.
