Yes, I have developed 3 other mobile apps over the last few years, as well as several web apps. My partner, Joel Busa, who co-developed the app with me, has over 25 years of embedded systems and software development experience.
Fine tuning the interface and user interaction portion of Augmented Reality is still the biggest challenge. People are not familiar with how to use AR apps. We worked hard in this release to streamline the AR “scanning” process and remove as much confusion as possible through a simple and clean UI.
Joe Bibby has over 15 years of experience creating art & marketing products for highly technical engineering projects. He is a former industry and NASA lead artistic and marketing developer, documentarist, and messaging expert. He brings a unique background with both technical and creative experience allowing him to look past the surface shine and expose the true benefits of technology to the world around him. It was this background that led him into app development, with the desire to bring new and exciting experiences to mobile devices.
I’m a long time user of Overcast as my podcast app. The developer continues to improve the app and it is a joy to use. The highlight feature is of course smart speed. It dynamically removes silences from episodes. I’ve saved 181 hours by using that feature. Carrot is my go to weather app. I never thought using a weather app could be fun, but they have found a way to give it personality. I mean seriously, there is a personality setting! So, great. For email, I couldn’t make it through my day without Spark. Between the smart inbox and snoozing, it makes me more productive and has made email useful to me again.
SnapAR has been in development since August of 2017. We started working on version 2.0 in January of 2018.
We wanted to build an app that enabled families and friends to stay better connected from across the country and the world. This puts them right in your home, with you, in a way that’s never been done before.
Unlike other message apps, SnapAR uses the video you capture and makes it appear in the room along with your selected theme. Record your child singing Happy Birthday with SnapAR, then share it with Grandma - she will see them singing right in the room with her.
In the next major release we want to make SnapAR even more engaging and personal. New interactive stickers will promote a playful back and forth for a more conversational experience.
Yes, please share the app! Tell everyone you know about it. We would also love to hear how you are using the app - send us stories of ways you used it to connect friends and families.
About App: Project video messages into a room like they are right there with you. Share with friends and family or record playback and share via social media. Add a fun note that floats over the person's head, make it unique with our fun 3D themes. Wishing someone Happy Birthday? Buy the birthday theme and your message will include dancing presents and balloons! Don't worry, themes you purchase will be shown to your friend whether they have purchased them or not. Rather record yourself? Use the selfie camera and send floating head messages for an out of body experience. Video messages are displayed in Augmented Reality and can be set in fun themes like a hologram or on the beach.
