Simpo Agenda Planner Organizer - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

Well, my strongest skill is marketing and product development, and honestly, after my first VOD project on PHP in 2017, I promised myself not to try to code myself anymore.

Nevertheless, I had to take some JavaScript courses because the Simpo app was written in it, and finally opened the power of Python for some new ideas within this project.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

Initially, it started as a web service for beauty pros looking for new clients. Then we added a CRM system for them, and finally decided to make a cool daily planner to build a complete ecosystem and reach more users.

After I realized that the time of web services is going away, and we have to build Android and iOS apps from scratch with more than 100,000 lines of code, it made me depressed.

Luckily, there is PWA technology by Google, and Cordova or Capacitor.js can help you compile your web service to any platform, and users won't mention any difference, if it's made good.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

You know it - TickTick, ToDoist, I love it as a guy who's addicted to planning. It just lets me breathe free when my affairs are fixed and stacked in one place.

How long have you been working on this app?

1 year with the daily planner, and almost 4 years with the whole bunch of products. I know, it's quite a long time, but user research and experiments within a small team can greatly increase the timing.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

We're implementing time management and assistant features that would help not to accumulate tasks but be more productive and achieve goals faster. Moreover, it's very important to focus on 20% of tasks giving 80% of results so we're gonna teach the app to help users find it.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

Our strength is synthesizing a simple calendar and to-to-lists with a mobile CRM system if you work with clients. It is still a web service so we don't limit users with devices. Their data is always available online at our website and a user can choose any functionality user wants.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

The planner will become smarter, we're already working on machine learning features inside and would like to help teams be more productive as well.

I would ask to go downloading our app and generate any ideas to help us filling the backlog in reviews or directly by messaging in the app 
