Yes we both have programming experience in Android.
Using machine learning Library TensorFlow and porting it to Android.
The app was designed by two developers. Myself, Divyendra Patil & Rahul Yadav. I have an Engineering degree in Computers while Rahul has an Engineering degree in electronics and telecommunications. We are both Masters students at Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, New Jersey, USA.
Linkedin, Whatsapp: Keeps us both connected.
We created it in two days.
The New York University hackathon had laid out topics to work on. We chose assistive technology. (Created it for blind people).
There are no similar apps like ours.
Train the tensorflow neural net much better than it is now.
We just want the visually impaired and blind to benefit from the app.
About App: There are a number of blind people who walk around us every day but do we really help them or just pass by? Life for a blind person is no easy task. I, Divyendra Patil & Rahul Yadav created this hackathon project to help the blind, since someone close to Rahul is visually impaired and a close friend of mine is completely visually disabled. We have created this project to help them while buying foods or other products, or even knowing what kind of product is in front of them. Any person can use this handy tool and can assist us in improving it. As a prototype, there are just 40 foods which the app detects, and we will keep adding more as we get time. We have launched an Android version and we are in the process of currently porting to IOS since there has been a time lapse since either of us worked on the IOS platform. We have currently implemented 4 languages, English, Spanish, French & Mandarin (WIP).
