Our talented Android developers have over 15 years of coding experience and have more recently been working on the cutting edge of authentication apps and trusted computing. As the lead Product Manager for Rivetz Authenticator, I come from social science, quality assurance, and project management background.
Communicating the benefits and requirements of trusted input and trusted processing to the end user is a little bit tricky. Another challenge would be designing the app's user interface to be intuitive, vibrant, and purpose-driven; while challenging, this was a very enjoyable part of the development process.

Goodness, this is a difficult question. I’d have to say that WhatsApp and VLC are two of my personal favorite apps. Both are very purposeful in what they try to achieve, and both give you more control and information than competing apps in their respective spaces.
We began development of Rivetz Authenticator a little over a year ago and have gone through three major versions. We went from our closed beta to our open beta and finally the general release version that is available today on the Google Play Store.
Users need to trust and have control over their security apps. With Rivetz Authenticator, we aim to provide the user with a highly secure app that doesn’t sacrifice usability and gives the user total control. You don’t need an account with us or even internet access to use all the core functionality.
Securing your online accounts is imperative. Two-factor authentication apps are a relatively easy way to make accessing online services more secure. However, we saw two major flaws with existing solutions: malware on the phone could too easily intercept one-time passcodes and there wasn’t an easy way for users to back-up their 2FA services. Rivetz Authenticator solves these needs by utilizing the trusted display on compatible devices and allowing users to create an encrypted backup that they control. We are very proud to provide these capabilities, along with other nuances that enhance the user experience, such as a simple search tool and biometric security.
The enhancements we’re most excited about revolve around integrating with The Rivetz Network (TRN) and the associated services that it enables. I can confidently say that policies involving geolocation and identity monitoring will be coming soon!

About App: Rivetz Authenticator creates Two-Factor Authentication codes for your important accounts and backs them up so you won’t get locked out. All your favorite services – Gmail, Coinbase, Facebook, Binance, Twitter, work accounts – are more secure with hardware-based 2FA. Enhanced Security - Generate codes in the Trusted Execution Environment – a secure hardware enclave on your mobile device that is hidden from the Android OS - Display codes in the Trusted User Interface on devices equipped with this screen, which can’t be seen by the Android OS - Work completely offline, within your device – we never see your keys, codes, or backups User-controlled Encrypted Backup - Back up all your services to an encrypted file that you control - Secure your backup with a 12 or 24-word mnemonic recovery phrase - Effortlessly restore authenticated services to new or additional devices Ensuring broad device compatibility and secure hardware-level processing is tricky – each device manufacturer implements TEE access differently. As long as your device is running Android OS 8 or later, check out our website to find out if it’s compatible with Rivetz!
