Plyzer - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

We are proud to have onboard a team of software developers ranging from 10 years of experience to very talented young rising stars, specializing in mobile/web development and Artificial Intelligence, amongst many other skill sets.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

The project is full of challenges, but we love challenges! Behind the scenes we are continuously gathering pricing information from thousands of sources, and identifying which product it belongs to. We are able to do this through our proprietary data extraction and Artificial Intelligence algorithms.

Visually, we always strive for simplicity in presenting our data. We think that this is the most challenging task of all, but the most rewarding one, and we like to believe that it is where the real value of our app resides.

When it came to the development of the mobile app, React Native allowed us to focus on the things that mattered, release for iOS and Android at the same time, and provided us with all the necessary tools to easily develop. For example, the barcode scanner feature so the end-user can find a product's best price even faster.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

Here at Plyzer, a lot of us are commuting to work by bike everyday, so we are competing against each other on how many kilometers we do using an app called Cyclogreen. And Spotify, of course, we can't live (neither work) without music, and it's too easy to use.

How long have you been working on this app?

We have been working on the app for the past six months, with a major release approximately every month. To get the major functionality of our web app implemented in React Native took only a month, and since then we have improved continually all aspects of the app, by releasing features exclusive only to the app and improving the overall experience.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

The app was developed to allow any type of customer to easily find the best deals in the OTC and cosmetics market, where's a lack of specialized tools for this purpose. It’s available in Spain and Canada, for the moment.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

At Plyzer, gathering complex data and offering it in a simple helpful way is our thing. We want to help customers get the best value for their money, as easy as possible, and that's exactly what we are doing. Help people save time and money on their online purchases and give equal exposure to all online stores: from the smallest to the e-commerce giants. The app's strongest points are its simplicity, all the practical and unbiased amount of information that it provides out of the box for free, and how fast new markets, where simple comparison tools are needed, will be added. We are very proud of it all.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

There are many things in our pipeline. We want to allow our users to create their own wish lists so they can save the products they need and discover where to buy those products at the lowest total cost. This feature is already available in our web app, by the way! We are also working hard to release our new product recommendation system and on making new product markets available to our users.
