Konusalim - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

Yes, I am a self-taught programmer. Actually I studied chemical engineering and did nothing in relation to programming. In my free time I watched YouTube videos about programming and all, and so decided to become a web developer and it went really well for me. It did not only become a hobby, but it became a means of making ends meet for me.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

The most challenging aspect of developing this app, until this date, was lack of funding. I won't say the idea is incomplete, but I will say that in the near future - with all the resources available - the app and its web page will be much more than perfect.

My name is David Tumenta, I am 23 years old. I am of mixed origin (African roots) and I live in Ankara, Turkey. I am a chemical engineering student and programming is my hobby. I have 27 Google apps that I have developed single handedly. I own a start-up by the name 'Daveduncancorp'. Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

My favorite apps to date remain 'Facebook', 'Ebay' and 'Yemeksepeti'. These apps really make life easier for lots of people today. Their functions are quite unique and very demanded.

How long have you been working on this app?

It's been 4 months today that I have been working on 'Konusalim' and its webpage.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

To be honest I try as much as possible to target users' daily needs, ranging from the need of interaction to the need of earning money and to the need of learning. That's why I made 'Konusalim' so diversified in its features.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

First of all, 'Konusalim' means "let's talk" in Turkish. It's a social media platform which I plan to make so that it contains: an interaction platform within itself, an online education platform within itself, an online movie, concert tickets sales within it, an online food ordering platform, and an online international money transfer platform, as well as an online ads platform - all within the 'Konusalim' website and mobile app. I also integrated a system such that we will be able to run ads for other businesses on our platform. More like Google or Facebook ads, which users pay and get the businesses promoted to a specific class and group of people in specific regions. This app will be kind of a combination of everything in one place. With the above mentioned features, with an app sophisticated as this, job openings will also be created. Hence, it won't just be me winning: it will be everyone winning to a certain level.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

In the future, I plan to provide a way better and responsive Android and Apple app for 'Konusalim'. We plan to provide 'Konusalim' to users in any language of their choice.
