Hearo – Watch Movies Together - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

I've been making games and all sorts of other software, from compilers to collaboration tools, since PCs first came out.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

Finding the right people to develop the app, and figuring out how to make the initial user experience fun.

Since the age of sixteen, he has been founding and working on games, companies, and platforms worth billions of dollars. With dozens of registered patents under his belt, his work has been presented on globally top news programs and shows.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

My current favorites are Strava, as I enjoy seeing what adventures my friends are on, Google Maps, because it makes it easier to get around, Amazon - not really just the app, it's an amazing service, YouTube TV. There are so many great apps.

How long have you been working on this app?

Five years.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

Too many people spend too little time with their friends. The hours we spend watching shows and streams is the perfect time to have fun with your friends. So we built Hearo to make it easy to watch almost anything with your friends.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

We wanted to let people sit on a virtual couch together, so we can watch, full screen, and talk just like we do in real life. None of the other watch party apps try to do that. Either they aren't really full screen, don't let you watch all your favorites, or they make it hard to talk, or they divide your attention with multiple windows.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

We want to make it easy to meet people who love the same shows as you.
