Contact Diary - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

I work as a Web-Application-Developer for more than 12 years and started creating apps in my free time about 10 years ago.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

Nothing really challenging, but I had privacy always in mind when I was working with sensitive information like location or the phonebook entries. In the end, you can create records faster when you grant permissions to your phone book or your location, but you never need to. It is still working however with a bit more typing.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

Simple Gallery – Nice and straight forward gallery with no bloat (paid version)
Solid Explorer – Powerful support for cloud/LAN storage with a nice GUI.
Network Analyzer – Allows me to quickly check a network with my mobile phone.

How long have you been working on this app?

I was working on this app about a month after I had the idea and a rough concept. In total the process took about 8-12 weeks.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

I wanted to create an app, that allows users easily to keep track of their contact. This should be done with high comfort but also with an eye on privacy.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

The app allows you easily and fast to keep track of your contacts. The process is straightforward, and you don’t have to create the person record first before you can use them, everything is done on one screen. Exports allow you to easily share and process your data in external applications or on your laptop.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

Currently, there are no features planned. But when users contact me with ideas for improvement, I implement these usually.
