Zam Wallet - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

As mentioned in my biography, I published an application on 'Google Play' that was associated with cryptocurrencies. Back then I did not have enough knowledge of Android development, but in the process I solved lots of challenging problems and got acquainted with most aspects of Android SDK. Also, I developed donation alerts service helping bloggers to stream and collect donations from fans. In the application it was possible to pay from the card a donation to any stream supported by our service, all in a few seconds.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

The most challenging part was developing different animations and satisfying design requirements. iOS system supports most animation types from the box and is easier to integrate custom layouts, while Android is way more complicated. This year situation became better when 'Google' announced new tools. Another task was to support enormous amount of screen sizes.

My name is Dzhavid Khalilov. I graduated from the Russian University Higher School of Economics in Computer Science - Software Engineering speciality. During the last three years I have been engaged in Android development. At first it was just like a hobby followed by courseworks in the university. Then I started participating in lots of hackathons, including 'Junction' in Finland and 'HackUPC' in Spain. Some of them were successful and helped me to find my first work from home. Popularity of bitcoin and blockchain technology has touched me as well. This interest led me to my first application published on 'Google Play'. It was a simple tool allowing users to get notified about cryptocurrencies' price changes, view charts and convert them to fiat currency. So now I am working at a blockchain startup and developing the 'Zam Wallet' application.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

'Telegram' is one of my favorite apps. Simple design and great user experience together with high speed resulted to an amazing app. Another example is 'Sleep as Android' which has a function of tracking user's sleep and waking at the optimal moment.

How long have you been working on this app?

The alpha version has been developed in three months.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

This application was created to simplify the use of cryptocurrency. The idea is to make the entry threshold to blockchain technology easier due to the function of making transactions by phone number. Thus, any person who doesn’t even have a wallet can acquire a cryptocurrency. The user just needs to get SMS of fund income, then download the application, and after registration process see the money on their account.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

Firstly, our plan is to make the application more stable and release the beta version that would support our own 'Zam' token.
