Times tables - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

Yes, I did, but not in mobile apps.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

Transform something boring (learn time tables) into as funny as possible game.

J. Pablo. has created a few educational apps that are now being used all around the world by thousands of children, from my closest neighbors to others in remote places around the globe.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

I don’t play sophisticated games, but I love playing simple apps like “Kill Mosquito” or “Piano tiles” from time to time.

How long have you been working on this app?

Probably few months for the first version but current version took me around two years of iterations.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

Well, my girlfriend’s child was trying to learn time tables.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

Children must walk through a path, on each tile they have three possible games to learn while playing and, each level is gratified with a medal. And, if they are interested, they can learn numbers and times tables in 6 different languages, which is cool.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

I don’t have plans for new versions in the short term, but I think it can be usable for a while as it is.

Enjoy, share, and may be check other educational children games under my name in Google Play (there are 6 educational games for children from 2 years to 10 years and a memory game for everybody… it’s not that much but it is all for free).
