Super Arcade Soccer - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

Well, I am pretty old in this business; more than 20 years in game development; from computers like Amiga to nowadays' devices.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

I think AI is the most challenging aspect of this kind of games; obtaining a believable human behavior is not an easy work.

Rubén Alcañiz Guerrero is the founder and lead developer of Super Arcade Soccer. Apart from that, he works as the Lead Programmer and CTO at different videogames companies.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

I don’t have free time to play actually. I love to try all the games that I can and see what could I improve in mine.

How long have you been working on this app?

I started to get interested in apps when iPhone 3 was released around 2009. Shortly, I bought a MacBook and I started to play with XCode.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

They need to have some interests in Soccer mainly and just want to play games like Sensible Soccer or Kick-Off.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

Humbly, I think Super Arcade Soccer brings the best arcade mood good old style but using the best of technology as real physics for ball simulation.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

I am very ambitious at this point, my idea is to keep growing and find a place in the Soccer games market and release yearly, a new version of Super Arcade Soccer.

Please, STOP playing games like FIFA or PES, they are fake Soccer, you don't have control really over the game while playing a match. Play games like Super Arcade Soccer, they offer you real soccer experience.
