Stash.ng - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

Yes, I have about 3-4 years of programming experience. I had been formerly an Application Developer (Team Lead) at 'Infostrategy Technology', before I joined 'Stash Fintech Ltd', and I have built and upgraded some mobile and web applications in the past.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

The most challenging part of developing this mobile application was the integration of payment gateway system to allow all kinds of debit cards, especially Verve cards.

Michael Ogbuma is the CTO and co-founder of 'Stash Fintech Ltd' - a developer of 'Stash.ng' (a savings platform in Nigeria). He is very experienced in both web and mobile application development. He is also involved in managing and working with other programmers.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

'LinkedIn' mobile app is an application I love so much. Users have a lot of flexibility and the user experience is awesome. Another application I love is 'AIT' news mobile app, the application not only provides news feeds but it also allows users to send reports of live events around them.

How long have you been working on this app?

The mobile application was developed alongside the web application. In total, it has taken approximately one year to develop the application.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

It has been realized that a lot of people keep idle funds which they do not invest nor get interest on. 'Stash.ng' enables users to keep their funds with interest (10-12% per annum). It is also a way for users to save for a rainy day and avoid emergencies.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

'Stash.ng' not only offers users the advantage to save their funds but they can take a salary advance which is what we call (SALAD). We allow users to pause or resume their savings at will. Users can also do an automatic withdrawal.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

'Stash.ng' currently saves your funds through your debit card, soon enough we will allow users to save directly from their bank account, whether they have a debit card or not.

We would like our users who enjoy the services we provide to share the application with their friends and family. There is a share button on the dashboard of the app, users can use it to share the link on their social media such as 'WhatsApp', email etc. Users can also send feedback to us by using the feedback form in the app's info menu item.
