Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

No, but START is based on the lifestyle of intermittent fasting and I have experience with that. I found developers in Ukraine to develop the core model and then moved the tech support to India, where I am based. START can help change people's lives for the better by adopting a robust scientifically proven lifestyle that will help you live a long and healthier life.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

There are various modules within the app (Water, 4-7-8 Breathing, Smart Devices Linking), but the START program, as it's tailored to one's own lifestyle and timings, was highly complicated to set up. This was our most challenging task, and it still can be improved, I feel.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

I tend to use more functional apps to help me run my life. The apps I use by far the most are Amazon (you can buy anything from there), HomeCare+ (My air purifiers as the air quality in India is going from bad to worse), YouTube (I watch a lot of educational videos and entertainment), Spotify (While I'm an Apple fan, I do like Spotify for the simplicity of setting up a playlist), IMDB (I follow this for all the latest movie news as I'm a movie fanatic), Tabs (helps keep me on my toes on the piano), and START (I use my own app to make sure I'm on point and there are no crashes!).

How long have you been working on this app?

About 2 years after its conception. COVID in between robbed a lot of time out of development, but in 2021 we got back on track.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

Intermittent fasting is one of the best lifestyles to adopt to help you lead a long and healthy life. But it's not easy to track things as you go along and START as an app makes things incredibly simple so you focus on your life and the program adapts to your lifestyle. Of course, one has to make an effort to achieve change, but START in a mere 7 days can help you lose weight, clear up your skin, give you tons more energy, vastly lower blood sugar (if you're Type 2 diabetic), and better sleep. The real change comes from using START for at least 30 days.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

START was created with no other Intermittent Fasting apps in mind. In fact I find all the others a massive task just to SETUP. They take unnecessary details of you before telling you what the app does. With START we focus on the science, on the methodology and empower the user with all the tools to correctly run his or her fasting regimen. We are also not so strict that if you miss something we penalize you. Life is about enjoying and living to the fullest. Cheat days and celebration are part of the package! This is not a military regimen. START is also so much more than an intermittent fasting app. There are subtle things that allow you to view your progress, enhance your breathing, de-stress in under 2 min, monitor your daily water intake, and more. We even provide you with a scientifically curated dynamic stretch to help energize your day and help you sleep better as well as the famous 7 min workout to get beginners burning fat and becoming fit in under 21 days exercising just 7 min a day!

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

We're still in BETA evaluating options and the feedback has been positive and encouraging. The eventual plan is to allow one to monitor workouts, track meals, and introduce our own smart devices that link in with the fasting program and more. The scope is endless with START. Right now we're incredibly novel to the game and we're understanding the app's dynamics, who is our core audience and so on.
