Solar-Log WEB Enerest™ - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

Yes, I have. I was involved in many projects before we have started developing an app, concerning to our new Online Portal Solar-Log WEB Enerest™.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

The most challenging aspect of developing this app, was based on three main features: security, usability and velocity. To combine these three properties, you have to plan and develop really carefully. With our new App, Solar-Log WEB Enerest™, we want to replace our classical Solar-Log™ app. The target was to make the functionalities in the new app modern and even more informative. And we succeeded.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

I like Instagram. I take a lot of photos to capture moments and memories.

How long have you been working on this app?

Until the release we have been working on this project for about one year. We spent most of our time planning and designing the app. This allowed us to minimize correction loops during the development phase. This app could only be created with a large team and the influence of many different departments.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

The main function of the app is the pinboard. The user can create his individual view of his photo-voltaic systems there. In this way, we provide our customers with an overview of all systems within a very short period of time. The representation of the recorded values by the Solar-Log™ is another main component of the app. We use modern charts to display all connected components and their consumption or production.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

We have made it possible for the customer to decide for themselves which charts they want and won’t look at. We are very proud of the pinboard, because none of our competitors on the market can show so far. Of course, there are no limits to this system and we will continue to expand these functionalities in the future. You can be curious. The News Center is just as unique. Here we can inform every Solar-Log™ owner about the daily yield of his plant. Here we are also provide information on serious errors, so that any loss of earnings can be reduced to a minimum.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

A lot of ideas are still on our implementation list, which we will place in the app bit by bit. Soon we will release a first major update, which will make the app even more powerful in its loading times. In addition, we are introducing some functions to the app that we already have in our WEB portal, but which still have to be implemented for mobile devices. We are all looking forward to the completion of the new version.

Since the Solar-Log WEB Enerest™ App project began, we have always incorporated customer feedback into our decisions. We want to reinforce this further. Together with our customers we want to improve the app, so we ask our users to send us constructive feedback, ideas and suggestions. We always have an open ear for our customers.
