Save Status – Video Download - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

Yes, I have been developing apps since 2017.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

The previous apps I worked on were mostly text-based apps. This is one of my first apps that mostly deals with media. While starting the project I thought it would be an easy ride but it turns out I would spend most of the time figuring out how to follow Google’s new rules on SAF (Storage Access Framework). Google recently put up this framework to protect users from malicious software so developers can no longer access all files unless an app is a gallery or file management app. Our only option is to access through SAF, which only grants an app access to only one folder.

Fabulous by TheFabulous from France has an exciting UI and brilliant experience.
In my free time, I have been playing Prison Break and Assassin games. They are excellent games and a bit addictive.

How long have you been working on this app?

I started working on the app in September 2022 and I released the app to Alpha testing in November. I later released the app to Beta testing in December after significant improvements and launched the app to production on 3rd Feb 2023.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

I had three things in mind while developing the app.

• Instant story savers on the Play Store are exploiting users with disruptive ads with the intention of making money before service. So I made a status saver app with just a banner ad essential parts in the app.

• When someone posts a video status on their Status, as a must only 15 seconds of that video can be viewed within WhatsApp. With my app, users can view the complete video the poster intended for viewers to see.

• I also implemented the direct lite messenger that makes it possible for any user to send a message or view a profile of any person even when their contacts are not saved in their phone.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

My app does not interrupt users with unnecessary ads as I have witnessed on multiple Status Saver apps. Developers are taking advantage of users even breaking Google Policies on ad placement, which doesn’t put the user first. I hope frustrated users who want to use a good status-saver app with an internet connection can find refuge in the Save Status – Video Download app.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

I intend to add status saver access to WhatsApp Business, WhatsApp GB, and Parallel WhatsApp. The app currently provides status-saving services only to WhatsApp.
