Yes, I have been programming native and web apps since I was a boy (I’m now 41). Now though, I work with other experienced developers who do all the coding on Ribbet, as well as other managers and designers. I am still involved with some programming (and design) from time to time, but my focus is increasingly on the higher level of running the company.
We built Ribbet for iOS and Android from the ground up, without using much existing code at all. This was challenging from a technical perspective, as image editing is somewhat complex, but also it was challenging creating an intuitive and fun-to-use photo editor.
Ben Meisner is the founder of Ribbet, who produce easy to use, creative and fun photo editing apps for iOS, Android, PC and Mac.
I like Trello for its simplicity for collaborating on projects, Snapchat for its sense of fun, and eBay because I love browsing for and from time to time purchasing stuff.
The iOS app since late 2015 and Android since 2017. Ribbet for Desktop has been under development since 2012.
To be creative and have fun editing their photos.
The photo editing space is filled with a lot of apps – some good, some not so good. The photo apps I admire are those which allow everyone to be creative and apply powerful effects to their photos, regardless of their technical skill level. I believe that all of us have a creative side, that can be nurtured as much as we choose. The idea of Ribbet is to nurture that side of people, and I feel the apps achieve that. The Ribbet apps are a work in progress, and over the next year you’ll see a lot of new functionality, that will bring them even closer to this goal.
You’ll find a complete set of stickers you can add to your photos (similar to the desktop version of Ribbet), the ability to erase from stickers and effects, lots more effects and touch-up tools, and the ability to start editing a photo on one platform and finish on another. We are also working on an exciting new browser-based (HTML5) version of Ribbet for desktop and an app for Amazon Fire tablets.
Please try the app; and if you like it, leave us a positive review on the App Store or on Google Play.
