Red Button Buzzer - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

Yes I have been developing software since 2003. I formed my company 'SV Software LLC' in early 2008, by creating web sites for businesses owned by families and friends. It has since grown into developing web sites and mobile apps for many small businesses. In creating this software company, I wanted to offer outstanding technology services and great advice for small businesses and their owners. I pride myself in seeing issues people have in their daily lives and then building software solutions to address those issues. Since I have developed in many platforms, I feel I bring a unique approach to the mobile & web environments to produce robust, easy to use & fun solutions to the market.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

Learning both the Android and iOS platform. They are very different in the way to actually develop and deploy to the app stores.

'SV Software LLC' is owned and operated by Steve Veloudos. Steve has been writing software professionally for corporate entities since 2003. He holds a BS in Information Technology and has been involved with a multitude of software engineering projects. Steve is well versed in many programming technologies including HTML5, CSS3, WordPress, Swift, Java, ASP.NET, MVC with C#, MS SQL Server, MYSQL, SQL Light, jQuery, Javascript, JSON, AJAX, XML, SQL Reporting, SSIS/DTS and many others. He is also Green Belt certified for Six Sigma. Steve prides himself in his ability to explain this highly technical information to his clients so they can understand it and leverage to help their businesses succeed online.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

'Pocket' and 'Overcast' are my two favorites. 'Pocket' is great because you can save things you find on the web and access then in a desktop browser or app. 'Overcast' is a great app because I listen to a lot of podcasts and it makes them very easy to find and plays them without taking up too much space on my mobile phone.

How long have you been working on this app?

It took me one month.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

I thought this app would be kind of fun to use when friends are playing a trivia game. What is really interesting is a comment I got from one of my users. He is a teacher and used the app as an educational tool for his special needs student. It helped him a lot because it showed both buttons at the same time. These types of things are why I got into software development in the first place. Hearing this from one of the users really was rewarding for me!

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

I think this app is unique because not only do the Yes and No buttons produce a correct and incorrect sound, the buttons also animate from an up to a down position. It makes the user actually feel like they are pressing a real button.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

I will be continuing making the app better based on user feedback. I have been getting mostly favorable reviews and I pay close attention to what the users are saying. I think this is why I have been successful in the app business. I try to develop apps that people want and will use.

Assuming new users of your app are reading this page. What do you want to ask them to do (contact you about X, Share the app, etc.)?

It would be great if they download and use the app and tell me what they would like as a new feature in the app. Also it would be great if they share it with their friends.
