My main professional background is in Data Engineering, Database design, and Data-driven solution architecture with a strong focus on Machine Learning and AI development. Quadropoly is my first (and so far, the only) attempt at working with Mobile Applications or Games in general.
Due to my background and experience, building very complex logic and training AI was just a matter of time (5 and a half years and counting). However, what I am really struggling with is the User Interface (UI) and the User Experience (UEX). I am doing my best to learn and improve in this field, although it goes much slower than I would have liked :).

Quadropoly project has been taking up all my free time for many years on top of my day job. Apart from a few banking applications and messengers, the only game I regularly play is my own Quadropoly. This is the best way to find bugs or find something to improve. Besides, every game and every opponent are so unique that it never gets even remotely like any previous games. Prior to starting on Quadropoly journey, I tried all available Monopoly games on Play Store and App store, but all of them had very simple bot logic, making every game extremely easy to win in 4-6 rounds.
I started working on Quadropoly AI in January 2016 and has been working on it ever since.
Mostly, ability to learn to play Monopoly on a professional level. Learn to evaluate trades based on current market conditions (not on the banking price), learn how to make your game quick and exciting defying the myth that Monopoly game should take over 20 minutes. Also, have all possible House Rules (or game options) in one place. Having a reliable way to compare players’ skills against each other and compete in Online Multiplayer.
There are many features in Quadropoly that have never existed in any other Property Trading game. Here are just a few examples:
- Quadropoly is the only Business Game with AI trained with Machine Learning models on millions of games between players and players vs AI
- There are total of 8 different difficulty levels for AI opponents. First 2 do not use Machine Learning models and are just marginally smarter than bots of other games. The remaining 6 increasingly use AI, allowing players to develop their skills in a comfortable environment
- Quadropoly supports cross-platform Online multiplayer. You can now play a game against your friends, some on Android, and others on iOS
- Players can play the same account on multiple devices. You can play one game on an Android device, then login to the same account on iOS device and play another game there and your account statistics will be synchronized across all devices
- AI Advice is a game-long tutorial that could be enabled or disabled at will at any point during the game. It suggests the best possible actions and helps evaluate any trades
- Adjustable animation speed. On the fastest setting, the game is completed in 6-10 minutes on average
- The number of game customization settings exceeds all other available games’ settings combined. New settings are still added regularly
- Completed games could be watched as a Replay, as well as uploaded to your Leaderboard record from where it could be viewed by other players. For example, anyone could open the best player’s Leaderboard record and watch how they play, learning tactics. The size of the game-long movies is 6-8Kb only, so no reason to worry about the Internet costs
Right now, I am working with a professional translator on Portuguese localization. This is expected to be available in a couple of weeks. There are already 5 languages available: English, French, Russian, German, and Spanish. Also, I am planning to add more 3D cities (currently, there are only Melbourne and Sydney available), each coming with their unique Chance and Chest cards. There are also ongoing design improvements, AI tactics, and new game modes being added

AIs are infinitely patient, make their turn as fast as you tell them, and never quit the game when you start winning. Also, with AI Advice system in Quadropoly you can rapidly improve your own skills in any Business Trading game, learn the real value (very different to the Bank value) of the properties, cash flow management, and money, improve your negotiation skills, and, most importantly, avoid throwing (or dodging) game pieces at your opponent’s face.
First 2 AI levels do not use Machine Learning models - they are very easy opponents. These levels do not require Internet.
The next 2 AI levels do not trade between each other - they are only permitted to trade with the player. They are also extremely penalized and are using only a fraction of the tactics available. These levels and above on our board game online, require the Internet.
The remaining 4 AI levels use more and more tactics and have fewer penalties.
