Yes, I've already developed multiple mobile apps. One was a dating application, then an app to perfect your Thai reading skill.
The most difficult part is to find the best way to learn effectively those pinyin, and so, find a cool and fun way to do it. I like the swiping method because it's easy, and it's a move we are used to doing on our phone. That's why I try to use this way to learn new words/sounds when I got time

Any kind of teaching app is good.
I've been working on this app for a month.
Instead of learning the sound via a chart, I break up the big chart in smaller groups and then give an easy way to go through those groups by swiping. Also via a simple click, you can listen to the different sound and I've implemented some very basic but necessary game to test yourself
I did not find any other app like mine. Other apps in the same "category" are teaching Chinese words ... I'm focusing on pronunciation first which I think is very important. My app will not teach you Chinese but will be a nice complement/tool to learn Chinese.
I'm learning Chinese at the moment and my focus goes to the sound first. The app will evolve with my learning curve, but my idea next is to learn Chinese characters, so I'll probably introduce them to the app too.
Tell me if you like the app, what kind of feature you would like to see, share and review, that's helpful ;)
About App: Pinyin Drill app's intention is to teach you the Chinese Pinyin, the romanization of Chinese sounds which is a good first start and which will be always necessary if you decided to learn Chinese. For that, a simple swiping system with all the sound on a simple click. Small games to test yourself! Totally offline, you don't need an internet connection.
