Nova Escape – Space Runner - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

I am a computer software engineer and I have a lot of interests in computer graphics. I love making projects about game engines and prototyping.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

Making the game intuitive for new players.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

Crossy Road for its neat design and its procedurally generated world. Magic Rampage for being innovative and fun.

How long have you been working on this app?

If i was working on it full-time I would say a few months... but since i have a full time job, it took me three years.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

Having fun by playing a challenging game with great graphics in an endless procedurally generated world.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

The 360° controls allows you to turn your space ship and in the same time to change your speed with only one finger. It can be hard to handle at first but becomes very convenient to dodge obstacles once mastered. You can go anywhere you want to overcome asteroids, mines and enemy ships since the world is procedurally generated. You will end up in the middle of space battles, mine fields while being chased by a super nova the whole time. Enjoy the mix between 2.5D graphics and the way objects react to direct lightning bringing old-school and modern graphics together.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

Plans for the coming new versions is to add more ships to unlock.

Assuming new users of your app are reading this page. What do you want to ask them to do (contact you about X, Share the app, etc.)?

Have fun playing Nova Escape. Share it with your friends and give us a great review on Google Play if you liked it.
