Yes, before NABOKI, I’ve already made a couple of puzzle games. Hook, Klocki, PUSH, and Up Left Out.
Probably rotating the camera, so it’s not confusing. The rest was quite straightforward.
Hi! I'm Maciej, I've been making games since 2012.
I mainly focus on minimal puzzle games, because they give me a space
for experimentation and allow me to work alone.
The tools I use are Unity, Blender, and Gimp.
Strava, Telegram, Windy. These are the ones I use the most.
Around 2 months of prototyping and 8 months full-time of development and release.
I wanted to make a simple, relaxed game. Where playing makes you feel good and it's not too demanding. If you want to play a chill/zen puzzle game while listening to a great ambient soundtrack it's a game for you.
In NABOKi like in my other games, I always try to accomplish a relaxing, calm gameplay,
where thinking is done in an intuitive way. So no sweating over the puzzles.
I want my games to feel different, there are no points, scores, leaderboards, timers, etc.
Just forget all that popular game mechanics. Just play and zone out. I try to accomplish meditative gameplay which is quite rare these days.
I will be adding new levels to NABOKI, but right now I’m finishing working on Hook 2, ( Hook had 2 mln downloads ), and will be launching it on 30 June.
