Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

I worked for 10 years for a financial software publisher in a Java environment. Then I wanted to create my own business so I moved on.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

To continuously learn new technologies and implement them to get the best of this app.

Carine is the founder of the french company Maadinfo Services. She is also the developper of the application. She started to work on the app in 2010 and founded her company in 2012.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

Yuka: A nice and simple app that scans products and analyzes their composition.

How long have you been working on this app?

First release of the android app was published in 2010. I am still working on it. I have also developed a website, and an iOS app. I developed everything by myself.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

I wanted to save my own favorite recipes on my phone and import some recipes from my favorite cooking websites.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

When I created the app, similar app didn’t exist at all. It was not possible to import recipes from my favorite french websites. Also, the app supports many languages.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

I want to continue to improve the application and adapt it to new technologies. The website will be also redesigned.
