Musical Instruments for Kids - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

We certainly did! In fact, our team consists of experienced developers, who come from different backgrounds and have worked with a variety of programming languages in different kind of projects. Over the last few years, we have focused specifically on mobile development.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

The greatest challenge we faced was the efficient memory management of the app, due to a large number of high-quality images and audio files included, in order to create top-level software. Another challenging part was the implementation of the UI in order to support both phones and tablets in portrait and landscape mode.

The Feasy Apps team consists of experienced Android and iOS developers and qualified educators who are absolutely passionate about their work! For a decade our developers have been engaged in a variety of challenging projects that have led to their specialization in app development and design. Being always on the lookout for new technologies, they never stop implementing the latest trends in mobile development.

Since our company is mainly focused on educational mobile apps for children, educators also have an important role in the designing process. Developers and educators work closely together so that we can ensure that every app addresses the needs of the respective children age group it has been designed for.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

One of our favorite apps is the AliExpress application. We think it is extremely user-friendly relative to the amount of information and the functions that need to present. We also, admire all those small UI/UX decisions taken that separate a good from a great app! Moreover, being passionate about educating ourselves, we are into apps like Duolingo, as they combine learning and fun at the same time.

How long have you been working on this app?

We have been working on this app for 6 months. The biggest part of this period was spent on the selection and processing of the images and sounds of the app.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

We wanted to help parents who would like to inspire their children to learn a musical instrument. Sometimes children may consider learning a musical instrument as an additional studying activity and react negatively to this idea. So, we wanted to create a fun and interesting app that would attract children’s attention and would introduce them to the world of music.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

What makes us special is that we offer a whole learning experience to the kid. The app has been designed in such a way as to provide a smooth transition from the cartoon to the real world so that kids learn while having fun. Cartoons with vibrant colors have been selected to attract the kids’ attention, but there is also a complete gallery of 240 real photos so that they get a full understanding of what an instrument really looks like. We are also really proud of the melodies included in the app. With four melodies for each instrument, kids have the chance to listen to various kinds of music and realize that an instrument may sound differently depending on the piece of music. To further expose children to different cultures, we have included a wide variety of musical instruments coming from China, Latin America, Africa, Europe, etc. So, we believe that “Musical Instruments for Kids” isn’t just another app to learn the instruments. It’s a chance for the kids to realize how interestingly different the world can be!

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

Since our app has just been published, feedback from our users is essential to define our next move so one of our first priorities will be to satisfy our users’ requests. Right now the app is available in English, Spanish and Greek so, another vital goal for us is to support as many languages as possible, so that children can learn the instruments in their mother tongue, no matter where they come from. We also want to increase the number of ways through which children will be able to learn while playing by including new, fun mini-games.

Assuming new users of your app are reading this page. What do you want to ask them to do (contact you about X, Share the app, etc.)?

At Feasy Apps, we really value your opinion! So, use the app and provide us with your feedback. Follow us on social media and send us your comments, questions or ideas. Help us become even better for you!
