Yes, I'm a computer scientist, developer for more than twenty years. I started in the nineties, programming in assembly code with the Commodore 64, and I never stopped, until today. I have been developing for Android for the last 9 years approximately.
Well, the key feature is "multiple layers", so the most challenging thing was dealing with multiple bitmaps in memory and perform (complex) matrix transformations in order to be able to edit these layers independently.
Based in Málaga (Spain), Lorenzo Moreno is an engineer on computing with more than 20 years of experience. Nowadays, he is mainly focused on Web Development (HTML, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, Joomla, WordPress…) and Mobile Apps (Android native and multiplatform "Android+iOS+Web" development with Ionic framework).
I really love useful apps. In my opinion, WhatsApp has changed people's communication like no other ever. Google Apps (Gmail and Calendar) are also a must-have couple for me. In "my sector" (photo apps): I try lots of them but I really don't have a single favorite. Nowadays I'm impressed with the ones including neural algorithms of artistic style; I'd really like to learn about it someday. In the meantime, I enjoy them :-)
Well, it’s difficult to calculate because many updates have been made. The biggest work was prior to the first version, back in 2016; that could have taken about six months of fulltime work. And after that, add a few weeks of development for each update. I don't know, perhaps a year in total, more or less.
I've always had 3 things in mind: Multiple layers, selection masks, and intuitive use.
I think there are a lot of photo editing apps, but very few allow to work with multiple layers and also selection masks. Masks are essential to correct photographs; also, highlight colors by areas, correct backlight, etc.
There are many things on the to-do list, but perhaps the first to appear will be perspectives, free transformations, and some more text editing options.
Well, I'd simply ask them to try it. I'd also invite to see the small demo-videos included, which I think are very illustrative of the possibilities. And of course, share it, please!, that helps a lot :-)
About App:
Love photo editing? Multi Layer is a full-featured photo editor able to edit and compose images in multiple layers. It supports the selection tool (manual and magic wand tool) to selective editing brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, and RGB color levels.
And of course, you'll also be able to apply lots of automatic filters to your pictures and decorate them adding text, hundreds of picture frames, stickers, and overlays.
Edited pictures may be shared and saved as PNG files (supports transparency) and also as standalone projects (.multilayerphoto). It integrates a file explorer able to load&save pictures locally or even in your Local Network (WiFi LAN).
This app is able to do any photo editing action: edit each layer independently, superimpose layers, blend modes, background eraser with transparency, magic wand to select and edit eye color, red-eye whitening, etc. Create amazing effects such as flip and superimpose a mirror image, create collages, watermark overlay, and so on.
This is the most unique photo editing app with multiple layers and an absolutely intuitive interface. You don't need to be a photo editing pro to enjoy using this app.
