Yes, I have a background in software engineering, and before releasing the first version of Kwit, I had more than 10 years of XP in coding.
I had to learn Objective-C, so it was a real challenge and had no “real-life” experience in UI and UX. The good thing is that it made me learn a lot of things.
Geoffrey, the interviewee, is the co-founder and CEO of Kwit. He is a 44-year old proud father of 2 daughters, currently living in Strasbourg - France.
My all-time favorite app is Headspace, the visual aspect of it is so so strong, you can recognize it between thousands. And after all these years and competitors in their field, they are still the best meditation app.
I’m working on Kwit since 2012, and I built a company for it in 2017.
I first developed this app for a sole user: myself. I was a smoker and wanted to quit smoking, and I was convinced that an app could help me in the process of staying a non-smoker.
I think our app has a great visual universe and we really put user experience first. Also, we have an in-house psychologist and public health experts. I made the first core features for myself: gamification and statistics, and then when we grew, we added all the new cognitive and behavioral layers.
Today above all, I’m proud of the team building and improving the app.
A feature is coming out soon, it’s called “explore” and it’ll be a part dedicated to content aiming at helping ex-smokers with all the questions they could have around: stress management, sleep, anxiety, nutrition and weight gain/loss, the content was written by experts specifically for us.
We always enjoy speaking to our users, so contacting us to tell us what they like and what they don’t like about Kwit would be awesome. And if they succeed in quitting smoking, they should share their success with their friends and on their social network.
