Kids Academy - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

Yes, I have 20+ years of software development experience. I started with C++ for building various B2B and B2C applications. 8 years ago I moved into mobile development in the game industry focusing on developing apps for iOS and Android devices.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

I think that the most challenging aspect in kids educational games industry is to find the right compromise between a fun factor and educational value. Parents want to see the educational aspect of the products their kids are using and are eager to pay for such a product while kids want to have fun and game-like educational apps make them feel like playing while actually educating the children. Here, at Kids Academy, we managed to find a great balance between those two factors. Obviously, it required a lot of attention to detail and hard work of the whole Kids Academy team to make the Talented and Gifted app great.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

I like Toca Boca games a lot - they engage kids really well, they implemented a great fun factor into the apps; I also enjoy Lego apps - there is a great mix of educational offscreen activities and a digital part.

How long have you been working on this app?

We have been working on developing the application for over 5 years. I started building the product as an iOS\Android developer and added unity skill during the project. I managed to learn lots of new things while developing the app and making it better with every new update.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

At Kids Academy we see our mission as helping parents identify and nurture the talents of their children at the earliest stage, boost their academic abilities and give them a head start in the world.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

We have built a unique educational program and this learn-through-play program combines the most advanced adaptive technologies, artificial intelligence, personalized learning, and gamification to help kids put their best foot forward and get the education they deserve.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

Every day we are working on improving the app by adding more fun and educational content to the product. We are also going to cooperate with the leaders of the industry and integrate more digital technologies such as robots and digital toys to the product.
