What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

The most challenging aspect of developing this mobile app was ensuring that our user interface was easy to use so that customers could browse and search for the different types of food that they wanted to purchase as well as showcase popular items that they could try.

The interview questions were answered by the FreshGoGo app. FreshGoGo is the first online Asian grocery and gourmet food one-stop-shop platform in North America and the largest in the Eastern United States. Headquartered in New York, our service covers 27 states in the eastern, central and southern states. FreshGoGo operates an efficient and smart supply chain and delivery service model. We have over 200 self-pickup locations and also provide home delivery service. Customers can place orders using a smartphone, tablet, or computer and receive delivery updates in real-time.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

Some of my favorite apps include TikTok, Taobao, and WeChat. TikTok and Taobao are really good at predicting users’ interests and push the right contents to the right market. WeChat has evolved from a simple messaging app to an all-in-one platform now and is a very essential tool in China.

How long have you been working on this app?

I’ve been working on the FreshGoGo app since its launch 6 years ago.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

We wanted to make fresh produce, quality meat, authentic restaurant dishes, as well as customer-favorite Asian products easily accessible to anyone that loves Asian food no matter where they live.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

FreshGoGo has a large selection of Asian products with over 3,000 commodities and 120 food purveyors. You can order chef-prepared dishes from top-rated New York and/or local restaurants, farm-fresh produce, hard-to-find meat products, delicacies from overseas, and pantry essentials all in one transaction, while most of the other apps do not combine different orders.

We also use thermal bags and ice packs for items that need to be kept cold to ensure food safety. You can choose to shop conveniently either through a mobile phone or on a computer. Our delivery schedules are fixed every week and we provide updates on the delivery day so you know when your order will arrive.

You can also have peace of mind with the cashless transaction and no-contact delivery. Our self-service customer support is 24/7 so you can reach out at any time.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

We are working to improve the user experience by improving the app’s interface, adding new features, and enabling more payment methods.
