Fhoodi - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

Yes. I am a software developer by profession with about five years experience in application development.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

Image optimisation. Images take up a lot of data when transferred from the server to the (client) app and vice versa so there was the need to compress the image while maintaining it’s quality.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

Quora because I learn a lot from people’s experiences and geological backgrounds.

How long have you been working on this app?

About 3 months.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

I draw inspiration from personal experience. I happen to be a foodie and picky on what food to eat and at what time. I love to try new menus too but I always have the problem of where and how to get them. This is a need Fhoodi is built to address. A social app for people with interest to get information on their favourite food item such as location, cost and place.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

I am familiar with a few food ordering apps and other apps that provide information about food but they lack the social aspect where a user can interact with other foodies. Based on this data the app shows users variety of a particular food. This makes food search interesting and fun.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

Currently working on the web platform since it's currently available on Android as well as other exciting features for users.
