FAT - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

I am a beginner in Android and 'FAT' is my first app to be published on Google Play. I started learning Android around 6 months ago, all thanks to my mentors Rohan sir, Anubhav sir and Nitant sir for solving​ my queries.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

Making this app different from what has been already published was the most challenging aspect. I tried my best to do that and I hope that users will love it. :)

I am a 3rd year Btech CE student and I love trying my hand at new things. I am passionate about programming and have worked on several projects.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

My favourite apps include 'Facebook', 'Pinterest' and 'YouTube'. The reason being that they prevent me from getting bored. :)

How long have you been working on this app?

I have been working on 'FAT' for around 2-3 months and have learned many new things during this time.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

This app is for an NGO ('Foundation Against Thalassaemia'). While developing it, my only aim was to help the NGO by going digital. It contains many registration forms - for example like blood donations, thalassaemia registrations, stem cells donations etc, and a support option where we can support the NGO for thalassaemia care and welfare by donating. This app is to create awareness about thalassaemia among the users.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

Before developing this app, I downloaded many similar apps so that I could make my app different from what is already there. I tried to put all the features together into one app and added additional features which could benefit the NGO.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

I plan to release the new version of the app with bug fixes and sorting the notifications based on user interest. User reviews about the improvements which I can make are welcome. :)

This is my first app and it is for the benefit of the NGO ('Foundation Against Thalassaemia') which aims towards eradicating thalassaemia. I would like to thank all the users who have downloaded it, and would like to hear their reviews so that I can improve it in future versions. Please share this app with others so that 'Foundation Against Thalassaemia' can reach a wider audience.
