Chaos Lords: Medieval RPG War - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

Chaos Lords was our first released game. Of course, our studio talents had some previous experience in game development, but still it was our first actual attempt at creating an engaging and popular mobile game.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

Second, actually designing the game. Chaos Lords was inspired by old pc RPGs, like Diablo, for example, so we wanted to express that feeling of freedom and choice in our game and also make it a bit more hardcore than your average battler/rpg on mobile. That, however, presented a set of challenges: we needed to create a broad leveling system, balance equipment and challenges, provide players with enough choice in how they wanted to play the game and so on. We actually had a fair bit of arguing internally through the development, and continue to iterate on game’s sytems and design.

And of course, Art. All our game assets are hand drawn by our talented artists. It’s definitely no small feat.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

I think it will be no surprise, if we’ll say that Telegram is our top app. A lot of our dev communications are situated there.
And also games! We love The Battle Cats, it is an immensely fun battler with great humor.

How long have you been working on this app?

Since the creation of its concept, we have been supporting Chaos Lords for around 6 years as of now.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

We wanted to create a battler and rpg unlike any other on the mobile games market. To provide players with more old school, more pc-like gameplay and progression: slow, thoughtful, challenging and with gorgeous art. Something where you can fight and conquer, join with other players to defeat powerful bosses and become the best Lord of all.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

One of the things that we are very proud of is the guild system. Many other games treat the guild system as nothing more than a glorified chat. In our game being in a guild actually means something: you unlock access to a separate mode where you can fight challenging bosses, enemy hoards that roam throughout the map and compete with other guilds for region control. All of this provides additional rewards.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

Right now we are on the quest of expanding our staff so we can continue support and bring new features to the game. One of the things that we want to do in the future is guild battles, that will expand our PvP options.
