We started developing mobile apps a few years ago, in 2015. We have already released some games like 'Pandela Rush' and 'Swipy Color'. There were some more projects we worked on but they never got released. This app was written in the Dart language and made using Google's new Flutter technology. This app wasn't our first Flutter project, since we made the app 'Kingdom Come: Alchemy' some weeks ago.
While we were already in the coding phase we noticed that we want some more functionality than we planned in the first place. We had to redo a lot of things and needed to write an entire server. But it was fun and taught us a lot. Also, since Flutter is quite a new framework we had to do many things from scratch. We developed several reusable components and decided to release them as open source packages to the Flutter community. If you search for "sclable_image" or "unity_ads_flutter" on Pub (the Dart package repository) you can find them.
Well we obviously love our own apps since we put much love into them. But there are of course other apps we use. That would be "Jodel", an app for sharing your thoughs with people around you. If you are currently attending a boring lecture it is fun to see what people around you have to say. Then there is "Polytropia", a simple strategy game. Even though it's simple to play you can easily spend an hour playing a single match which makes it a good time killer, too.
We started in April, as Fornite Season 4 started. About nine weeks later we uploaded the app to the stores. It took much longer than planned but this was due to the changes we made while we already started coding. Something you can't directly see in the app is the app's backend server. From the nine weeks about half of the time was spent on it.
This app is for Fortnite players. In Fortnite you have to complete weekly challenges. To do so you often have to find secret places. Since we both play Fortnite we thought that it would be cool to have an app that shows you where you have to search and that gives you the ability to mark locations you have already visited.
Something we are really proud of is that the users can share their discoveries. If a user finds a target from a challenge which is not in our database yet he can submit it. This process is very, very simple, you just have to click on the map where you found the target and then you can add a screenshot. You can also set your username if you want credit for it or you can send it completely anonymously. Other users can now see the new added target. This way the content is managed by the community and not by us and we think that's a very unique and cool feature. The other aspect we think is important but almost no one gets right is user privacy. We've got a very detailed privacy policy and what we do with the things submited to us is totaly transparent for the user.
Fortnite Season 5 starts very soon and we want to be the first to adapt to it. Since our app was desinged for multiple seasons in the first place and has the community feature we think that we can make it!
Please use our app and be part of the community! If you discover something please share it with others by submitting it! It is you who keeps this app alive :)
About App: Keep track of your progress in Fortnite on your way to Battle Pass level 100. With weekly updated guide it's easy to complete all challenges and get battlestars. It features Battle Pass and Free Pass challenges and even the secret tier 100 challenge. Know where to search by using the map feature and also view screenshots to find the location of your targets. You can also add custom markers to the map if you find a location that's not marked on the map. You can then share your discovery by attaching a screenshot and submitting it to us!
